Where are you based and how far do you travel?
     We're based in San Antonio, TX and service these areas: San Antonio, Leon Valley, Helotes, Shavano Park, Castle Hills, Balcones Heights, Alamo Heights, Terrell Hills, Windcrest, Kirby, Converse, Universal City, Live Oak, Selma, Schertz, Fair Oaks Ranch, Boerne.

What is included in the Gift Package?
     - Our elegant gift bags bearing our logo are signed in gold by your performer with a message as a keepsake.  Inside you'll find a classy bookmark, eye mask, bath bombs, branded coasters, and branded guitar picks.

What are the basics of A Musical Surprise? 

     - You type instructions for the artist such as "Happy 40th birthday Cathy, Love Dad!" or "Steve's retirement party after 30 years.  Thanks from management!".  If there are special instructions for parking, gate codes, or entering the building, please include them in the message.

     - Your performer comes to your location on time, looking spectacular and bearing a gift package. 

     - Your artist performs a few minutes of their best material and Happy Birthday or similar occasion-related song.

     - If you've ordered the mini-concert, get comfortable and enjoy a full ten minutes of entertainment.  

     - And then they're off in a cloud of smiles and you can continue your party or get back to work after a fun break.

Do I need to book a few days in advance?
     - No. Our artists list when they're available and you choose any who are available at the time you need, even if it's the same day, no additional charge.  Please do book at least two hours in advance so your artist can prepare and travel.

What if I select an artist but they're not available the day I want?

     You can either click "Check Next Availability" and schedule that artist for a different day, or close the booking calendar window and select a different artist, OR click the "Book Now" button to see all artists available on the day you want.  You can select one by placing a check mark next to their name, or leave it as "Any Artist" and we'll automatically assign one for your special occasion.

How do payments and automatic alerts work?
     - Full payment is required at time of online booking.  We offer Credit Card, Apple Pay, PayPal, Venmo and other payment options.  Also, we do not add a "service fee" for our payment options.
     - When you book, you will receive a text and email confirmation with all the details and a calendar attachment. Your artist receives this same message so you're always on the same page.

Is it okay to take pictures and videos?
     We encourage it!  Because we respect the privacy of your home and workplace, we will not record or post videos.  We want you to feel relaxed and secure as you enjoy your special performance.  If you wish to tag pictures, please use #AMusicalSurprise.

Do you perform at weddings, restaurants, and big events?

     We do not.  We specialize in delivering musical surprise greetings for small gatherings at clients' homes, their places of business or public areas which have been reserved for your event.

Do you do costumes and characters?

     We do not.  Our performers dress to impress and express their genre and personality with class and flair.

Do you take song requests through the website?

     We do not.  Our artists have perfected and selected their best material for your special performance.  Artists will also perform Happy Birthday or Happy Anniversary when appropriate.

What if we're blown away and want to tip the artist?
     We encourage it! You can leave a tip as part of your payment on the website when you pay or give it to them in person.

What if I need to cancel?
     Cancellations at least 24 hours in advance will be refunded 75%.

What do I need to do as a host?

     PLEASE ensure the location is in a safe environment.  If our performers feel unsafe, they are instructed to leave immediately.  A Musical Surprise caters to family, professional, and upscale celebrations.  Please allow our artists to come inside so everyone can be comfortable; we do not perform in driveways or doorways.  Please include gate codes or instructions for parking when placing your order.
